This page contains details of the workshops that we will be running as part of the project, including dates, topics to be covered and links to enable you to sign up to attend.

All of the workshops will take place from 10.00-15.00, with 1 hour for lunch (approx. 12.00-13.00). Participants can register for the workshop(s) via this link (note: you can sign up for individual workshops, a selection, or for the entire series). We have included links to relevant materials relating to each workshop topic below, at least some of which have been developed by the project leader.

Workshop 1: Introductions

Topics to be covered:

  • research into didactic approaches underlying the programme (active learning and e-learning approaches);
  • principles of course design, technology use in teaching and active learning classroom techniques (the topics to be explored in subsequent workshops);

  • deep and surface approaches to learning;

  • what to do and what to avoid: examples will be provided of effective practice (and ineffective practice) and participants will be invited to participate in discussion of their own practices and experiences as teachers and students;

  • planning your syllabus.
